Wine & Food In The Park 2008
 How Do You Get Here?
It's Easy!
If you live in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Gympie or the North Burnett, the Tarong Mine Wine and Food In The Park Festival is easy to get to.

The South Burnett is serviced by three highways - the D'Aguilar, Bunya and Burnett - and we're a pleasant 2 to 3 hour drive from just about anywhere in South East Queensland (see map below)

If you're visiting from the southern or western part of Brisbane or the Gold Coast, the quickest route is through Ipswich and Esk via the Brisbane Valley Highway. But if you live on the north side of Brisbane or the lower Sunshine Coast, the easiest route is on the D'Aguilar Highway via Caboolture and Kilcoy.

Toowoomba and Darling Downs residents can travel along the New England Highway to Yarraman where it joins the D'Aguilar Highway, then turn left and pass through Nanango; or on the Bunya Highway via Dalby through Bell and Kumbia.

If you visit us from the Gympie region or many parts of Wide Bay, the Burnett Highway via Gympie, Kilkivan and Goomeri will be the easiest route. And if you live in the North Burnett, we're sure you already know the many easy ways to get here anyway!

How To Find Memorial Park
Memorial Park is Kingaroy's largest park. It's located just a few blocks from the CBD off the Bunya Highway - and it's very easy to find.

It doesn't matter whether you travel from the south or the north on any of the highways that pass through Kingaroy - you'll eventually have to pass by an intersection with traffic lights and a McDonald's Family Restaurant on the corner.

Kingaroy's McDonald's is located right on the corner of the Bunya Highway and Haly Street.

Simply turn off the highway into Haly Street at the traffic lights (as though you were going to drive into McDonald's) and travel 100 yards past it. You're there!

The map above shows central Kingaroy. The bright yellow roads are the main highways through town and the three red dots are sets of traffic lights. Memorial Park is on the upper left (map courtesy of Yellow Pages).

Catch
A Bus!
The South Burnett is regularly served by tour buses and some people really prefer to bus it to the Festival rather than drive. If you're thinking about coming by bus yourself, you can find the latest fares and timetables on
Brisbane Bus Lines' web site.

Welcome To Flatland...
If you're used to the hills of Brisbane you'll be delighted to hear that central Kingaroy is almost perfectly flat.

Although we have a few very steep hills towards the Booie Range end of town, the entire CBD and all the areas around Memorial Park are on level ground.

This makes walking around Kingaroy extremely easy.

In addition - because Memorial Park is so close to Kingaroy's CBD - there's plenty of parking not far away!

Almost all of Kingaroy's CBD accommodation is also within easy walking distance of Memorial Park.

So if you're staying overnight, this means you don't need to worry about driving!

A Word About Drinking & Driving: NO!
If you're planning on drinking at Wine & Food In The Park you should never drive.

Either come with a group that has a designated driver, catch a cab or make some other transport arrangements to get home.

If you're staying in the area, many of our local accomodation operators are more than happy to help out here - just ask!
