Welcome To
The Great Flat Land...
If you're used to the hills of Brisbane you'll be delighted to hear that central Kingaroy is almost perfectly flat.

Although we have a few very steep hills towards the Booie Range end of town, the entire CBD and all the areas around Memorial Park are on level ground.

This makes walking around Kingaroy extremely easy.

In addition - because Memorial Park is so close to Kingaroy's CBD - there's plenty of parking not far away!

Almost all of Kingaroy's CBD accommodation is also within easy walking distance of Memorial Park.

So if you're staying overnight, this means you don't need to worry about driving!

A Word About
Drinking & Driving: NO!
If you're planning on drinking at Wine & Food In The Park you should never drive.

Either come with a group that has a designated driver, catch a cab or make some other arrangements to get transport home.

If you're staying in the area, many of our local accommodation operators are more than happy to help out here - just ask them!

Wine & Food In The Park supports responsible alcohol consumption.

 How Do You Get Here?
It's Easy!
If you live in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Gympie or the North Burnett, the South Burnett Wine and Food In The Park Festival is easy to get to.

The South Burnett is serviced by three highways - the D'Aguilar, Bunya and Burnett - so we're a pleasant 2 to 3 hour drive from just about anywhere in South East Queensland (see map below)

If you're visiting from the southern or western part of Brisbane or the Gold Coast, the quickest route is through Ipswich and Esk via the Brisbane Valley Highway. And if you live on the north side of Brisbane or the lower Sunshine Coast, the easiest route is on the D'Aguilar Highway via Caboolture and Kilcoy.

Toowoomba and Darling Downs residents can travel along the New England Highway to Yarraman where it joins the D'Aguilar Highway, then turn left and pass through Nanango; or on the Bunya Highway via Dalby through Bell and Kumbia.

If you visit us from the Gympie region or many parts of Wide Bay, the Burnett Highway via Gympie, Kilkivan and Goomeri will be the easiest route. And if you live in the North Burnett, we're sure you already know the many easy ways to get here anyway!

How To Find Memorial Park
Memorial Park is Kingaroy's largest park. It's located just a few blocks from the CBD off the Bunya Highway - and it's very easy to find.

It doesn't matter whether you travel from the south or the north on any of the highways that pass through Kingaroy.

You'll eventually have to pass by an intersection with traffic lights and a McDonald's Family Restaurant on the corner.

Simply turn off the highway into Haly Street at the traffic lights (as though you were going to drive into McDonald's) and then travel 100 yards past it.

You're there!

PS: There's plenty of free parking around the edges of Memorial Park, but on Festival Day it's usually all filled up by around 12:00 noon. However, adjoining streets also have plenty of parking available if you don't mind walking a block or two.

Buses should go to the front of Kingaroy High School in Markwell Street (one block south of Memorial Park) where there are always ample free bus parking zones.

Catch A Bus There And Back!
In 2012 Wine & Food In The Park will be running guest buses from Murgon and Blackbutt to take guests to the Festival and back home again in the evening. And we'll be running a third town bus around Kingaroy to drop guests off around town in the evening too!

The fare on the guest buses that will run from Blackbutt and Murgon is $10 for a return ticket. These buses will pick up and drop off guests at both the terminus towns and all major towns in between (eg: Wondai, Tingoora, Wooroolin, Nanango and Yarraman).

The Kingaroy town bus, meanwhile, will run from Memorial Park to five designated drop-off points around the town between 7:00pm and 10:00pm. The fare for this bus will be a gold coin donation which will be given to the SES.

Seats for the two guest buses are strictly limited and in order to reserve a seat you'll need to phone Gaye Hobbs at Hobbs and Associates Pty Ltd on (07) 4168-5999 or email her.(fares will be collected and return tickets will be issued on arrival at Memorial Park)
